Project 2016: MARSHES, spaces on danger of extintion.
For years, I've been going to the wellknown as the marshes of l'Alt Empordà. I must confess that the marshes attract me so much. Its reflexes, the softness of its landscapes, the numerous birds that live within the same space, the diversity of the landscape you can find in a few kilometres...
This affection along with the work made by the locals to get that it was recognized by the public institutions as zone of protection, threatened by the unlimited development of the area, has led me to start a project combining the arts and socio-environmental sciences.
I'mleading an art process as space for the aesthetic shock of human beings but also as a door to a better understanding of what is admired, not just a landscape, but also a set of organic processes between man and the environment that can be illuminated to create a new awareness in the collective.
The estimated time for its realization is of 1 year and a half (July, 2017)
Project 2015: ONIRIA, memories from Costa Rica
This year, I traveled for 2 months by one of the impresionants natural places in the world because of its nature. I had to choose: settle down somewhere and paint or know the maximum of places and the life of the people who lived there and for the first time, chose the latter.
I had brought a camera with me and took thousands of photos. I am not exaggerating. I wanted to capture it all. At the turn of each trail one greater beauty, a new frame. For the first time I also started working in my study. From this experience I started to work supporting me in my memory and in the photographic record that had created.
The extreme abundance of nature, its endless flora and fauna, much still yet unnamed, endless combinations of natural forms in my path, pushed me to start a series of oneiric murals , where imagination and reality converge without knowing who beats who. In my memory, Costa Rica will be created and recreated merging fact and fiction into a landscape of infinite nature.
I'm still working on the project. No date in sight.
